Painter, Printmaker, Collage Artist, Art Educator
Available for commissions
Sarah Colado (She/Her) is an artist and educator living in Jacksonville, Florida. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking with a minor in Art History from the University of North Florida in 2014.
Sarah has participated in group shows nationally and regionally, had solo exhibitions of her work and maintains a balance between artist and educator with her studio practice at CoRK. Her work marries the use of collage, paint and printmaking techniques that focus on perceptions of identity and gender-based roles in society. The often humorous or satirical nature of her collage work leads to reworked images across disciplines. Sarah experiments with transforming paintings to drawings, drawings to paintings and collages to prints.
Sarah is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Art Education from the University of Florida. Sarah currently teaches drawing and painting at the high school level but has also explored adult education at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in 2018 as an assistant educator, teaching fundamental techniques in drawing. Sarah also participated in the 2019 Arrowmont artist residency, Pentaculum in January of 2019.
